Cast study - Owner dispute
Mona Lisa
In this case the Claimant alleged that the motor cruiser "Mona Lisa", sold to them under a Bill of Sale, was misrepresented to them by the yacht brokers when negotiating the purchase. Subsequently, a pre-purchase condition survey failed to properly identify all relevant defects with the condition of the vessel, particularly those defects which affected the structural integrity and overall safety of the vessel.
Maritime Services (International) were retained by the Claimant to carry out a full structural survey of the vessel and to identify areas where defects were detectable but had not been properly identified in the original, pre-purchase survey.
Subsequently MSI prepared an Experts Report in respect of the claim.
